Mindfully.org
- This site has an abundance of resources about environmental
issues and other things to help one live mindfully in our busy world.
There's probably more information here than one can absorb.
GeneWatch
- This site from the UK offers a lot of technical information
and provides lots of insight into what's going within the biotech industry
and Europe to organize awareness and resistance among the populace.
Seeds
of Simplicity - This website has been useful for me
in my new learning about simple/deliberate living.
Simple
Living Calendar - If for nothing else this page, this
site brings me pleasure because I can see how much other people are
thinking similarly to me and doing more about it.
Vegan.Com
- This site appears to be done by Erik Marcus who's book
helped me transition toward eating vegan.
Pangea
- These folks made
me very happy by providing me access to (selling me) a pair of shoes
I could wear to work that were made from non-leather materials and manufactured
without abusing small children or women. The shoes weren't cheap and
carried the burden of being shipped several times (first, from the factory
in Portugal, then to me in Berkeley), but I like the shoes and I'm reasonably
confident no horrific acts were perpetrated in their production.
I also found vegan
vitamins through them.
Green
Market Place - Another place I find refuge when I'm
looking for mindfully manufactured/produced goods. These folks aren't
as thoughtful as the ones at Pangea, but if you're selective you can
do alright there.

GrannyD
- If you believe that our political system has been corrupted
by the influences of money and those who want to make lots of money,
this is the site for you. Or if you're like me and have trouble finding
heroes in this world, check this one out.
Ecology
Center Events - Lots of great green events in the Berkeley
area. Check out the Ecology
Center homepage too.
Niebyl-Proctor
Library - These folks sponsored the talk
by Angela Davis that I appreciated recently.
SpeakOut
- Need some help communicating with elected officals about various progressive
issues? Then go here.
True
Food Now - a good roundup of basic GMO information
and latest news. I believe this site is maintained by Greenpeace.
Organic
Consumers Association - another good site for basic
information on organic food issues. Provides good info on upcoming protests,
actions and other critical events.
Ruckus
Society - training humans in non-violent direct action
to resist greed, corporate tyranny and social injustice.
Action
Agenda for Electoral Reform - check out their butterfly
ballot style index page and notice some of the content while you're
there.
